What was measured, how it differs from the previous sampled date, and why the result matters.
Can these readings tell me whether the water is safe?
No. These are provisional research measurements. They help characterize conditions, but do not replace toxin analyses, local advisories or a complete ecological assessment.
Each card selects the method with the latest date, then the longest record when dates tie. Cards can use different methods; read each method label. The newest day may still be incomplete.

Water temperature
16.22 °C
What was measured: daily mean from 96 numeric records; range 15.67–16.89 °C.
Compared with 2026-10-17: 0.68 °C lower. This compares two sampled dates, not a proven trend.
What it means: Temperature describes the water’s thermal conditions. It influences biological activity and how much oxygen water can hold. A lower reading means cooler sampled water, not automatically better water quality.

Dissolved oxygen concentration
7.12 mg/L
What was measured: daily mean from 96 numeric records; range 6.76–7.32 mg/L.
Compared with 2026-10-17: 0.12 mg/L higher. This compares two sampled dates, not a proven trend.
What it means: This is oxygen available in the water, expressed in mg/L. Aquatic animals depend on it. Oxygen can vary with depth, temperature, mixing, photosynthesis and decomposition. The retained minimum in this group is above 5 mg/L. That narrow observation is not a whole-waterbody or water-safety assessment.

Phycocyanin fluorescence
0.42 RFU
What was measured: daily mean from 88 numeric records; range 0.30–0.60 RFU.
Compared with 2026-10-17: 0.04 RFU higher. This compares two sampled dates, not a proven trend.
What it means: Phycocyanin is a pigment associated with cyanobacteria. Its fluorescence is useful as a screening signal. RFU is a sensor response, not a toxin concentration.

Chlorophyll fluorescence
1.40 RFU
What was measured: daily mean from 95 numeric records; range 0.50–3.50 RFU.
Compared with 2026-10-17: 0.42 RFU higher. This compares two sampled dates, not a proven trend.
What it means: Chlorophyll is a photosynthetic pigment. Fluorescence gives a signal related to pigment-bearing material; some algae are a normal part of aquatic food webs.

How to interpret a change
Start with the method label: device, site, depth and units. A comparison is calculated only within the same series. Read the count and range with the mean. Different sampling counts, time coverage and retained QA notes can change the daily summary.
What to investigate next
If oxygen falls, check the minimum, duration, depth and time of day. If pigment fluorescence rises, check whether the same method shows a sustained change and whether laboratory analyses support the signal. A pair of daily values cannot identify a cause.
Coverage and uncertainty
The source README describes historical sites differently from the current-year CSV. This report preserves the current source identifier. It does not invent coordinates, assign unverified place names or represent unsampled parts of the waterbody.
